ABCs of Nostalgic Digimon: J is For…

Digimon World is such a source of such nostalgia despite that I never really got particularly far into the game.

Hang on, I’m sensing a theme…

J is For…

Jungle Mojyamon

Jungle Mojyamon

I feel sorry for this colour variation – I kind of love the whole reason for some colour schemes being climate and habitat based. Jungle Mojyamon is one of the few older monsters who just hasn’t shown up in the anime at all – he’s mainly been in a few video games but only a few.

I like Mojyamon in general, so having a colour variation that is more tropical is great, a little bit how a yeti is just the ‘big foot’ in the snow.

I mentioned the mangroves area in a previous post – it was an area that took me so long to reach and I was so excited to explore another area thanks to some friendly Coelamon who formed a bridge.

Also in the same area is Muchomon – a Penmon colour variation, who is almost a runner up as a choice, for more or less the same reasons.

It’s probably unusual that I love colour variations so much considering they’re rarely that different in terms of design – their LED sprites are usually completely indistinguishable. Colour variations could just be called lazy – they’re just a change in colour and not even a change in design (like Agumon and ToyAgumon), but I just can’t help but love them.

Anyway, yay for colour variations, yay for Digimon World, yay for Jungle Mojyamon.

Who is the most nostalgic Digimon that starts with the letter ‘J’ in your opinion?
