Continuing on with the rewatch of Digimon Adventure for the Digimon subreddit in the leadup to the Digimon Adventure Reboot coming in April, here’s my Rewatch of Digimon Adventure Episode 26 review!
Opening thoughts
The end of the crest arc and the beginning of the Myotismon arc is here! Sora returns and explains why she was just following everyone around and helping rather than having her present known!
She gets to evolve Biyomon to Ultimate, still no idea why Mimi couldn’t, but oh well.

Rewatch of Digimon Adventure Episode 26 Review
Tai is still calling Mimi ‘Princess’ as a joke. The group reuinite with everyone but Sora. Mimi mentions remembering Sora talking to her, but she was possibly dreaming. Koromon said he heard Sora help him out too. TK wonders why Sora is hiding and Matt says it’s because she doesn’t want to come out, or she doesn’t care. Which is obviously the former, as she’s helped out everyone.
Myotismon finally gets a Digimon Analyser. Myotismon calls the crests ‘Courage’, ‘Hope’, and ‘Friendship’. Sora has the Crest of Love, which hasn’t activated and is the only one because the writers forgot Joe existed apparently. Myotismon threatens DemiDevimon with bats and DemiDevimon says he hates bats.
Meanwhile, a Flymon attacks the group. Izzy finds Flymon on his Digimon Analyser. Koromon and Tsunomon evolve and fight Flymon. Birdramon shows up to help, Sora is running away from the others.
When Sora left to find Tai, Sora overheard DemiDevimon talking about what each of the crests are and tells each of the children which crest each of them have. Tai is acting like it’s the first time he’s heard of this, despite saying that Mimi has the Crest of Sincerity last episode. Tai said that Love fits Sora perfectly as she always cares, but Sora says she doesn’t care about anybody and she has no love and her crest will never glow. Tai is sexist ‘Why are girls so emotional when it comes to love?’.
Sora spoke to DemiDevimon who told her she’d never make the crest glow…and..she believed him. Tai is just awful this episode and says it’s not worth being this upset over.
Sora mentions how her Mum didn’t let her play Socccer when she was hurt and wanted her to help at the family business. Sora felt like she let her team down. She is upset and Matt tells Tai to leave her alone. TK thanked Sora for helping him out. Biyomon says that they were always around. TK tells Sora to stay because he doesn’t miss his Mum when she’s around.
DemiDevimon throws a dart at Sora when the group is asleep, but Biyomon saves her. Myotismon shows up and unleases a swarm of bats, which the Digimon fight off. “Let me try and get my point across: Needle Spray!!” Thanks Togemon.
The Digimon aren’t strong enough and Biyomon says she has to fight and Sora won’t let her. Biyomon says that Sora doesn’t understand and Sora remembers saying the same to her Mum. Sora realises that her Mum loved her and cared about her the same way. Birdramon gets hurt and Sora calls out that she loves her, causing her crest to activate and Birdramon to evolve to Garudamon. Garudamon says “SSOOORAAA, I CaNN fEEEll YouuRR LOVE”.
We get ‘Hey Digimon’ and the children escape on Garudamon. Sora mentions how she understands her Mother’s love. Everyone says that they can feel Sora’s love, except for Joe who just had seeds in his pocket.
Myotismon shows up after Matt narrates for some reason, and the episode ends.
Rating for my Rewatch of Digimon Adventure Episode 26

Do you ever notice that during evolution episodes the other children usually just sort of watch and don’t try to evolve their own Digimon or fight or anything? Well this time it’s actually explained, Myotismon just beat them up too much and Biyomon fights as a last resort.
We learn about Sora’s anxieties and her issues with a mother, which feels a little sudden in the English version because of how the dub removed a lot of Sora’s insecurities in episode four.
I forgot how great and emotional this episode is so it had to get the full five stars.
