Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 64 “The Angels' Determination”

Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 64 “The Angels’ Determination”

Following on from last week’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 64th episode of Digimon Adventure: (2020)!

Opening thoughts

I am determined to enjoy this episode, so maybe that’s what the Angels are feeling in the title?

Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 64 Review

Algomon is hanging out with his booty out and Takeru and Patamon are talking to Devimon who refers to a sound that gave him shape. We also see him as Tsukaimon which is kinda cool. I’m glad we’re remembering Devimon existed.

Takeru and Patamon promise to stop it, and Devimon is like “of course you will” and then peaces out. Komodomon barks and wakes up Takeru, who is then reunited with Tailmon and Hikari, who say that they should reunite with everyone.

Tailmon wonders if Devimon was created by the great catastrophe and that is what lead him to madness. Tailmon reminds us that it was good that we stopped Milleniumon, but we should now stop the Great Catastrophe.

Soundbirdmon are attacking the plot tree. Wisemon says that Soundbirdmon’s influence works better on Machine Digimon.

Wow Pegasusmon is tiny in this episode, this does not bring joy to my knowledge or whatever Wisemon says.

Pegasusmon and takeru are thinking about if Soundbirdmon is the noise that Devimon mentioned int heir dream. Taichi shows up and everyone else does too. So does Golemon from Digimon World.

In the room with the crests, all the crests are now glowing. All the Soundbirdmon combine to form Deathmon, but it is darker than the original design from 21 years ago. Fun fact, for some reason this Nightmare Soldiers Digimon was on the Wind Guardian Pendulum Cycle virtual pet.

Never question the Pendulum Cycle.

We see shots of all the Digimon that we’ve met watching the Soundbirdmon in the sky. WarGreymon is there standing and glowing but nobody else has evolved to Mega.

HolyAngemon and Angewomon evolve to Seraphimon and Ofanimon. The evolution sequence is SUPER cool! Lopmon should also evolve and help out the Digimon in the other areas.

The animation of the attacks at Deathmon is really well done. Algomon then says the big bad’s name ‘Negamon’.

The kids and their crests glow and the children briefly enter space but then the crests are gone and there’s a white void outside because we’re hopefully not doing Apocalymon.

We’re learning about Seraphimon this week, Patamon says that his armour is heavy, so his ten wings work hard. Ofanimon next week.!

Rating for Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 64

4/5

Hey! I actually liked this episode; it looked cool, it made me excited to watch more, and, most importantly, Taichi barely spoke!

There are very minor things that I don’t care for in this episode; mainly that I felt the evolution of the angels, while fairly cool and well animated, happened very suddenly and felt a little forced in this episode.

I also felt that no character really stuck out as any form of MVP except for maybe Devimon because he not only showed up, but showed up as Tsukaimon!

But those are very minor complaints overall, in general I liked this episode and it’s definitely the best episode that we’ve had for about 20 episodes, so maybe that’s why I liked this episode so much.
