Alright, it’s Mimi’s time to shine in Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 6! I’m really looking forward to seeing how the 2020 version of Mimi is as a character! However, I’m also a bit anxious and I hope that the series can continue with the same level of quality that previous episodes have had.
So let’s get straight into it!
Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 6 “The Targeted Kingdom”
Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 6 Review
Sora and Taichi are exploring and see the view from above. Sora can’t see the sea. However, the group is all starving so they decide to hunt for food. Agumon sees pink plants with pumpkins. However, it’s a trap!
Palmon says that they are fruit thieves. Tanemon all rise from the ground. Mimi shows up and says how all fruit thieves should be punished.
Mimi welcomes them to her kingdom and says that she’s a fourth grader and is queen of this kingdom. Palmon is her buttler. Palmon asks if they’re not with Tuskmon and since they’re not, the misunderstanding is cleared up. Sora explains that they’re lost.
Meanwhile, Koshiro is keeping track of the damage caused and is flying on Kabuterimon.
Back to Mimi, she reveals her Digivice. Sora and Tai are surprised, despite that being not surprising. Mimi says that there’s no time for this. Koshiro calls them on Taichi’s Digivice and Mimi says it’s like a smart phone. Koshiro tells them to watch something, Mimi points out that it’s slowed down and Koshiro explains that it seems that time in the Digital World moves at a different pace.
Meanwhile, Ogremon is taking control of Tuskmon with Soundbirdmon. Sounds like no easy..tusk…
Koshiro is explaining how there’s some lag between the human world, the digital world, and even the network he’s in. Sora says that maybe Mimi was transported to the Digital World earlier than the rest of the group. Koshiro shows the group the news, which is reporting the outages. Mimi seems worried about Tokyo being in this state and recognises her Grandfather, who is the chairman of Tachikawa industries. Mimi wishes there was something she could do to help.
Mimi says that protecting the Tanemon from bad Digimon is the most important. Taichi refers to Mimi as Queen and the group says they want to help her. She numbers Taichi as number 72, and Sora as number 73.
Some observing Tanemon can see attacking Tuskmon and inform Mimi. They break through a fence and then fall down a hole. Mimi is a tactical genius? Taichi and Agumon run off to fight the remaining Tuskmon who are finding their way around a giant cliff. Agumon evolves to Greymon and fights them.
Coredramon is flying overhead and Sora hold her Digivice. Meanwhile, Greymon is fighting two remaining Tuskmon and Taichi sees Coredramon. Birdramon and Sora show up to fight him.
Palmon asks Mimi if she’s scared and she says she is a little. Palmon says she’ll protect her. Suddenly the eart starts shaking and the earth splits, revealing a Drimogemon! Ogremon is riding it! Drimogemon tries to attack Mimi and Palmon saves her. Palmon looks injured but fights Drimogemon.
There is one Tuskmon left, however, Coredramon is dropped on Tuskmon.
Back to Mimi, it appears that Palmon is actually dying and fading away, which we’ve not seen in the series yet.
Palmon tells her to run. and Mimi says that she won’t run as when she first arrived, Mimi was so alone and Palmon introduced her to Tanemon and Mimi can’t run away and leave Palmon alone. Her Digivice starts to glow.
Palmon evolves to Togemon and punches Drimogemon in the drill. Ogremon gets mad at evolution and tries to murder Mimi, but Greymon shows up to fight him. Greymon breaks off Ogremon’s horn.
Meanwhile Togemon is beating the life out of Drimogemon. She wins, and then de-evolves back to Palmon. Mimi and Palmon hold eachother and tell the other how much they love the other.
Ogremon is mad and lost his horn, so he screams in a forest.
Mimi and Palmon are joining the group and Mimi remembers her time with Tanemon and says how they’re going to take care of the Kingdom, and how she’ll now do her best.
Rating for Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 6
In Adventure she was a Princess, now she’s a QUEEN. Mimi is great, Palmon is great, and the episode I feel like I had to give a five out of five, despite it probably being more of a 4, I just feel like the episode didn’t let me down in my expectations.
And it seems that episode 7 will be a Joe episode, so I’m looking forward to that!
