Following on from last episode’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 50th episode of Digimon Adventure: (2020)!
Opening thoughts
Welcome to the episode that made me not care about Holydramon AND Goddramon existing in the anime.

Digimon Adventure 2020 Episode 50 Review
Taichi and Agumon didn’t jump off Mugendramon, just got pushed into the continent and then Agumon evolved to WarGreymon as they fell off.
The children are all inside Millenniumon, Tailmon says that they’ll just fall into darkness without perishing, and then the characters are all smiling because they remembered Taichi returned.
Also, side note, the space where the children are captured really reminds me of Hurricane Touchdown.
Gabumon evolves to MetalGarurumon and MetalGrarurumon is able to slow down the compression of data going on inside Milleniummon. Everyone else evolves to Perfect level.
Taichi and WarGreymon are plunged under water, but everyone calls out for Taichi, their hopes and light giving power to HolyAngemon and Angewomon. WarGreymon attacks the orb that is holding the children, and HolyAngemon and Angewomon evolve to Goddramon and Holydramon.
Taichi and WarGreymon are then rescued and put into the orb made by Holydramon. Half the chosen are in that orb, while the rest are in the Goddramon orb.
I love Goddramon, but he sure does look silly. I like how his wings from far away just look like the crest of hope upside down, but that may just be the animation. Goddramon definitely skipped leg day.
We decide to do another Evangelion-esque shot as Zeed Milleniumon shows up. Goddramon looks BORED. It’s a shounen, so we then get the opening song as WarGreymon makes sure we all know that Taichi is the main character.
Taichi is powered by the fire lit by all the Digimon that they’ve met – including Neemon. Milleniumon is defeated and Taichi gets given the corsage. Agumon has one too, he’s proud.
We then get a shot of the sky, where previously there was a continent is now just the sky, so either it gone blown up or the animators forgot it existed.
In the encyclopedia we learn about Goddramon – Koshiro wonders if that’s a beard under his chin and what the grooming routine is like.
