I’m going to give you a hint for this one; the nostalgic printed book I’ve mentioned before is the reason for me choosing this Digimon.
R is For…
Rosemon
Yup! It’s Rosemon; Palmon’s fully evolved form that we didn’t actually get to see happen until Digimon Adventure Tri!
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the printed out activity book I had as a child is how I learnt of all of the Adventure partner Digimon’s evolutions, and, of course, the art used was always the Digimon Reference Book art, as shown above.
I always thought Rosemon was pretty cool; she looked like Lilymon, but seemed a lot stronger! I was kind of disappointed that Palmon didn’t actually evolve into her in the anime, so you can imagine how pleased my inner child was when I watched the second chapter of Tri and got to finally see her!
Rosemon was in Savers as Yoshino’s fully evolved partner Digimon, but, for some reason, she always felt different to Mimi’s partner, despite their Ultimate form being the same.
Honestly I’m not that fond of Lalamon evolving into Rosemon in general; maybe because I felt that she was already Palmon’s evolution and it felt unusual that Lalamon didn’t get her own evolution.
Lalamon evolving into Rosemon seems like if Agumon in Savers and Gaomon evolved into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon respectively instead of their brand new evolutions.
Why didn’t Lalamon get a new Digimon design (Lotusmon)? It just felt lazy to me.
Despite Rosemon being in Digimon World 2003, I never actually used her in the game, probably due to the fact that she only evolved from Angewomon and, as this was the time before guides being so accessible, I never used Angewomon.
