Following on from last week’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 7th episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
As I mentioned in my quick predictions episode (embedded below), I am worried that this will be another simple misunderstanding solved by Hiro talking to the mon of the week. However, episode 7, from the synopsis, does imply that, this time, a human is tied up in the misunderstanding, so it could be something new there, at least.
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 7 “Birds”
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 7 Review
A man is in a room with a bunch of caged birds and birds and a Yatagaramon show up at his window and they let the birds in the cages free. A girl is also attacked by crows who free her pet bird.
Meanwhile, Gammamon is eating chocolate. He has a new scarf and all the characters are in winter clothes. It’s really nice seeing characters in Digimon have multiple outfits. Ruri makes the other’s meet to discuss the bird issues.
The man appears to be now working with the birds but doesn’t seem to know it’s a Digimon, he’s acting like it’s a god.
The group investigate the attacks and they work out that the man must be connected to the attacks because of social media posts. Kiyoshiro realises the pattern of attacks is the Fibonacci sequence.
The group then works out where the next attack is planned and the characters fight Yatagaramon. I wonder why the attacks are no longer given as an animation and they just shot them out now instead of having that burst of energy thing.
The Digimon get attacked and they’re all struggling against a perfect level for the first time. Once again Gammamon is motivated by chocolate and wishes he could fly, Gammamon evolves to KausGammamon so he can fly.
The evolving to suit different requirements is cool. Yatagaramon just flies off after the fight. There was no talk but Angoramon says that the caged bird yearns to be free and the free bird yearns for friends.
Rating for Digimon Ghost Game Episode 7
This episode didn’t finish with a talk between Hiro and Yatagaramon like the other episodes, but, because of that, it felt suddenly over and anti climatic. I do enjoy that we got to see Gammamon evolving to a different Digimon because of the situation called for it, but I would really like to see Angoramon and Jellymon evolve soon.
