Following on from last week’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 56th episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
Opening thoughts
Are we going to get filler before the holidays or some new plot and evolutions?
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 56 “Impurity”
Hiro’s friend is washing his face and saying ‘filthy’ over and over again. I kinda feel bad for Kota because he does seem to be a target of the mon of the week most of the time.
The same thing happens to one of Ruli’s friends. Also the animation is just INSANE this week. The shadows are just A+.
Kiyoshiro is also targeted by the mon of the week, because of course he is, so he calls Hiro and Hiro, Gammamon, and Espimon run to find him and notice that many other people appear to be infected as well.
I’m getting major Higurashi vibes from this, it is so haunting. Are the writers just writing about nightmares they’ve had?
Hiro finds a group of students getting rid of a lot of the stuff in their dorm. The receptionist stops Hiro from entering the dorm and tells everyone that he’s impure.
Hiro and Ruli change to the digital field and everyone else appears to be wooden dolls in the field. Once again I have NO idea who the mon of the week is but this ominous chanting is spooky.
Ruli gets captured by the 12th Angel from Evangelion.
The chanting is horrifying and we find out the mon of the week is Kuzuhamon Maid Mode, who is the purple version of Sakuyamon Maid Mode. Kuzuhamon starts reciting small sins throughout her life that made Ruli impure, most of these are very minor and things that most people would do like not returning a book when it’s due as a child.
It’s hilarious that Hiro hasn’t been captured because he is sinless. Once the sins are removed, the humans are just wooden dolls, which is such a beautiful metaphor?
Oh nevermind she’s grabbing Hiro, he’s not sinless. Gammamon warp evolves to Canonweismon and saves him. Kuzuhamon mode changes from the giant Miko lady to regular size.
Gammamon thinks about how much he’s learnt and done with humans and how they’re not impure and mega evolves to Siriusmon!
Kuzuhamon acknowledges she was wrong because of this evolution and everyone goes back to normal. She says that they will meet again and Jellymon says that Kuzuhamon erased everyone’s memories and how nice that was? Love that they threw that in there.
