Following on from last week’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 32nd episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
Opening thoughts
Ah yes, my least favourite trope in Digimon, the forced argument between the main character and their partner Digimon.
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 32 “Who Are You?”
Gammamon is going to meet a Digimon friend but an imposter Gammamon visits Hiro. Gammamon then returns and Hiro said he was there the whole time.
His friend is a Gotsumon imposter who keeps telling Gammamon to meet him at the park so his imposter can hang out. Gammamon then comes home to find Betsumon being Gammamon.
None of Gammamon’s friends recognise him and Clockmon doesn’t either. Gammamon meets a Meicoomon who also got replaced by Betsumon. It’s weird seeing and hearing Meicoomon with a masculine voice.
Jellymon has also been replaced by Betsumon because she goes out so often. Betsumon want to also replace the humans, starting with Kiyo.
Gammamon starts eating the chocolate at a picnic but Betsumon can’t eat as many as Gammamon. Hiro recognises Gammamon and Gammamon evolves to WezenGammamon.
WezenGammamon then super evolves to CanonWeismon. I wish I knew where the real Jellymon was during this. She shows up at the end to find Kiyo tied up. Clockmon says that he always knew Betsumon was to blame despite being completely useless
New ending is super cool.

This episode made me feel emotional and it reminded me of a reoccurring dream I had as a kid where there where copies of me and nobody recognised me, but other than that it was more or less annoying and they never quiet explained what Gammamon looked like if he didn’t look like Gammamon. Surely he would’ve just looked like Gammamon still, Digimon are known to have multiple of the same species.
