Following on from last episode’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 59th episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
Opening thoughts
Another Kiyoshiro episode, but will this one feature an evolution, or will that be next week?
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 59 “Jiraiya”
A thief is turned to glass and murdered by TonosamaGekomon, meanwhile Kiyoshiro is catching up with his Otaku friend to go to some live show of a toku show. TonosamaGekomon shows up and everyone thinks it’s part of the show.
TonosamaGekomon is looking for a Jiraiya, and Kiyoshiro says it’s him to protect the audience. He’s very brave. Tonosama Gekomon then makes him merge with him and he notices the other humans merged in him. Which is very graphic and body horror.
The group then meet Kiyoshiro’s friend while Kiyoshiro and Tonosama go to fight crime. The group go to investigate and Kiyo’s friend follows them to see what they’re up to.
The group show up and Kiyoshiro merges with TonosamaGekomon entirely which makes TonosamaGekomon very sad that somebody else left him. The Digimon evolve to perfect but revert because of the time limit.
Gammamon loses his temper and evolves to GulusGammamon, Black Gargomon and BlackAgumon are watching.
Hiro tells GulusGammamon to stop and GulusGammamon says that Hiro should sync with him to save Kiyoshiro, but Hiro says no. Gekomon begs for TonosamaGekomon, rescues the group, which angers GulusGammamon, but Hiro jumps in the way and GulusGammamon reverts saying it’s only a matter of time. Black Growlmon is watching on.
TonosamaGekomon reverts the humans turned to glass. The group then suggest that Gekomon sits on TonosamaGekomon and becomes Jiraiya because he’d be able to handle it. Kiyoshiro’s otaku friend wants to hang out with Gekomon and Tonosama Gekomon.
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 59 Review
Rating for Digimon Ghost Game Episode 59
3/5
Overall, a fine episode that doesn’t do anything incredible but lays some fun and exciting ground work for future episodes.
Also A+ body horror, again, of course!
