Following on from last episode’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 58th episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
Opening thoughts
Looks like AncientSphinxmon is appearing this week, I wonder if any other Ancient Digimon will pop up?
Digimon Ghost Game Episode 58 “Pyramid”
AncientSphinxmon is asking people riddles and exploding them into wood or stone or something, which is really graphic.
Meanwhile Ruli is helping her friend prepare for her piano recital, the friend is then requested to solve a riddle and is unable to. Ruli and the group then want to investigate why she’s disappeared and immediately find evidence and find a person who has been turned to stone.
Hiro is then asked to solve a riddle and captured as is Kiyoshiro. The stone people are being used to build a pyramid. Ruli goes to Mummymon who says that this must be the work of AncientSphinxmon.
The pyramid then appears and opens a portal to summon Pharaohmon. Angoramon evolves to Lamortmon and I’m wondering why Ruli isn’t trying to control Jellymon and Gammamon like we’ve seen is possible for Jellymon at least.
AncientSphinxmon asks Ruli a riddle but Angoramon starts talking about all the things that Ruli likes. I was kind of hoping it was going to be a riddle battle, but Lamortmon evolves to his Megamon Diabitmon who is a really fancy swordsman.
Diabitmon accidentally kills AncientSphinxmon and looks like he feels bad, and then we get a new ending song.

This episode was just fine – it didn’t do anything incredibly amazing and awe-inspiring, but it didn’t really do anything badly either.
