Following on from last week’s review and, of course, our podcast discussion episode, it’s time to watch the 4th episode of Digimon Ghost Game)!
Opening thoughts
Well here we have the scariest season’s Halloween episode, I wonder how far it will go?

Digimon Ghost Game Episode 4 Review
There’s a dance lesson and a man gets asked Trick or Treat by a voice and then attacked by a Jack O Lantern.
Ruri and her friends are decorating a room and Hiro and Gammamon are walking around and Gammamon learns about Halloween. Hiro presses a button and goes to the DigiQuartz area, or an area that is like that.
Hiro meets Ruri’s friends and Hiro helps out and it gets horror really quickly. Ruri teaches Hiro that you can make Digimon just appear as holograms that others cant see. Hiro asks Angoramon to teach him about the Digital World.
Apparently they were born from viruses. Hiro asks about evolution and Angoramon says that Digimon usually grow and don’t revert. One of Ruri’s friends witnesses Pumpkimon stabbing somebody and carving a pumpkin face.
There’s also a robot called Cosmo-kun at each attack, which turns out to be Pumpkinmon. Pumpkinmon seems to want friends but is doing it really weirdly.
Ruri is worried about her friends and Hiro says that he’ll be the decoy. They split up and search for clues and there’s a Candlemon! Hiro gets taken by Pumpmon and the rest of the group show up to save Hiro.The other pumpkin people are Candlemon and Ekakimon.
Hiro presses the buttons on his VB and they’re taken into a Digital World like area so they can fight without impacting the real world.
We get an analyser for Pumpmon because Angoramon is the smart one. Pumpkinmon explains that he is lonely and loves Halloween because everybody has his face and he wants them to all be his friend and look like him.
They’re able to trick Pumpkinmon into attacking a statue but he gets mad and says he hates them. Gammamon evolves to BetelGammamon and sets Pumpkinmon on fire who cries and says how he wants friends.
Hiro explains that Pumpkins are used as decorations and friendship shouldn’t be forced. They make friends with Pumpmon.

This episode took everything spooky about the three episodes before it and turned it up way past eleven. It was some spooky, creepy Halloween fun!
